Ricky Hatton, considered the fifth greatest British boxer of all time, would be open to fighting again, but in an exhibition match. And if that were to happen, he revealed a sports personality he would love to face - Cristiano Ronaldo.

It wasn't like the former welterweight boxing champion had a grudge against the soccer icon. Rather, it was more of CR7's popularity and good looks, a reason Hatton would love to give him a slap when he spoke to Vadims Mikeļevičs of Mighty Tips in an exclusive interview.

"He used to play for Man Utd, United fans love him he's good looking so why would you not want to give him a slap?" the 45-year-old retired boxer stated.

However, Ricky Hatton is aware that there could be some problems on his part if an exhibition match were to happen between him and the five-time Ballon d'Or award winner, Goal.com reported.

"I'd have to catch him first but he was certainly some player wasn't he. I hope I don't have to do as many step overs on that ice like he does!" he added.

Hatton dreams of facing Roberto Duran

Aside from Ronaldo, Hatton mentioned other names he would be open to facing in an exhibition fight. Among them is Roberto Duran, another retired boxer who he admitted is his favorite of all time.

However, Hatton knows it would be a painful night if this materialized - knowing how Duran brawls when he puts on his boxing trunks.

For now, Hatton is keeping himself busy on "Dancing on Ice." He was the first celebrity announced for the 2024 season on "This Morning" via RadioTimes.com.

Hatton, also an ambassador of mental health, gave his views on the upcoming fight involving Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, Boxing Scene reported. He is siding with the "Gypsy King" to pull off a win against the Ukrainian boxing champion.
