Braves: Mookie Betts Has 'Crazy' Reaction to Ronald Acuña Jr.'s Historic 40-70 Feat

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. made a historic achievement during their victory against the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday, September 27. In a remarkable feat, the Venezuelan achieved something never before seen in Major League Baseball.

The 29-year-old became the first player in MLB history to accomplish the remarkable combination of hitting 40 home runs and notching 70 stolen bases in a single season.

Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts was one of those impressed with Acuña's incredible accomplishment.

"I hope y'all know how crazy this is," the seven-time MLB All-Star wrote on Instagram Stories while reposting a picture of Acuña showing the 40/70 milestone.

Acuña was already the first player to achieve the 40/50 and 40/60 milestones.

"I'd be lying if I told you I thought I was going to get this done. It was one of those numbers that wasn't impossible, but seemed impossible. Thankfully, we were able to get it done," the Braves star said after the game.

How did Acuña's 40/70 achievement transpire?

Heading into Wednesday's matchup, the four-time MLB All-Star had already secured an impressive 41 home runs while successfully swiping 68 bases across 154 games.

During Wednesday's game against the Cubs, he added to his stolen base tally by achieving numbers 69 and 70 of the season.

The Braves won the game, 6-5, improving their win-loss slate to 102-56 and tightening their grip as the team with the best record in the National League East and the whole MLB.
