Dennis Schroder got two chances to play with the Los Angeles Lakers but the German guard was unable to fit.
Further, Schroder did not exactly hit it well with the purple and gold in his first stint back during the 2020-21 NBA season.
At the time, the 29-year-old rejected a four-year $84 million extension and opted to become a free agent instead with hopes of getting bigger money per the Bleacher Report.
Most know what happened to Schroder after that. He had stints with the Boston Celtics and the Houston Rockets thereafter before eventually returning to Los Angeles last season.

One big name he was able to play with on those two occasions is LeBron James. Despite Schroder’s inability to fit in, the two remain close friends.
The four-time NBA champion praised his former Lakers teammate via his Instagram account after leading Germany to the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup gold and bagging the Most Valuable Player award on social media.
Schroder and the German team continue to savor their FIBA World Cup conquest of Serbia and will likely take a breather once everything settles down.
However, there is no denying that Schroder’s recent performance will be a good precedent for his upcoming NBA stint with the Toronto Raptors.
The 17th overall pick of the 2013 NBA Draft signed a two-year deal worth $26 million with the Toronto Raptors, Schroder’s sixth team in 10 seasons, NBA.com reported.
Dennis Schroder will be the main guard for the Raptors and his recent FIBA World Cup showing is certain to provide a big boost when he plays his first game in the 2023-24 NBA wars.
