USC freshman Bronny James will be expected to enter next year's NBA Draft, and many teams are interested in the 6-foot-3 combo guard.

One of them is the Los Angeles Lakers, the current team of his father, LeBron James.

An NBA scout revealed to HoopsHype that the purple-and-gold franchise would pick the 18-year-old if he is available.

"If the Lakers get a pick, they won't pass on [Bronny]. He's a decent player. He's better than some guys who may get picked ahead of him," the unnamed source said.

The scout also said that the younger James is solid but not spectacular. Although they noted that Bronny knows how to play and handle the ball well enough, and if you leave him alone, he'll drill a three.

"He reminds me of Austin Rivers as a player, and he's stayed in the league for over a decade," the scout added.

Huge summer of 2024 for the Los Angeles Lakers

Aside from landing a talented player like Bronny James, the Lakers' potential decision to draft the young guard could be a factor in keeping star LeBron James.

The NBA's all-time leading scorer still has two years left in his Lakers contract, but the 2024-25 season is a player option.

The 38-year-old has been vocal over his desire to play alongside his children, and it would be easier for LeBron to opt-in to the Lakers for 2024-25 if his son is on the team.
