Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Myles Jack, who was recently signed by the team, revealed that he was on the verge of preparing for life outside of football after being cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers last March.

The 27-year-old mentioned that he nearly entered trade school to pursue being a plumber or electrician as a post-playing career after it took a while for him to receive offers from NFL teams.

"I like to work. I couldn't sit at home. I've been blessed to make a lot of money. I could retire and sit at the house. I want to be innovative. If a Zombie apocalypse came, I want to be able to build something," Jack said.

Jack has earned an estimated $49 million in salary and signing bonuses throughout his seven-year NFL career, according to Spotrac. The number will surely rise after his new deal with the Eagles.

Jack had barely anything while trying out for Philadelphia

The linebacker shared that he barely had anything packed when he arrived in Philadephia to try out for the recent Super Bowl runner-up last week.

Jack only had two pairs of drawers, two pairs of sweatpants, two pairs of socks, and a bible in his bag while staying at a hotel.

"I wouldn't rather have it any other way, man. I'm here now and I went to Ross and bought me some white t-shirts and I'm here now. That's how it goes. They give you a playbook and the next day, you're out here practicing," the former Jaguar and Steeler said.
