The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) is mulling over changing grid access rules by fans and celebrities after incidents involving Neymar and Shakira.

Pre-race grid walks have become a celebrity affair as Formula One has become more popular over the past years. This means more people need to be made aware of the rules and danger of staying close to the cars.

This is why FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem is considering imposing new rules involving that part of the race. Rumors even say that pre-race access might become a thing of the past.

"The FIA has been assured by Stefano Domenicali (CEO of Formula 1), that measures are being taken to ensure that there is no repeat of the incident," he said.

"It is the duty of the FIA to ensure a safe environment for all. Safety in motorsport is the Federation's main priority."

The past circuits saw big names from different fields come together to enjoy the show and support their participating friends. This part of the circuit is for those invited only, but some went overboard with their excitement.

Why were Neymar and Shakira there?

Neymar is the center of this issue. Reports said he stayed at the edge of the grass on the main straight before the start of the Spanish GP. The PSG star was there to support his friend Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes. It is also public knowledge that it is his dream to watch and sit in the cockpit of a real F1 car.

Colombian singer Shakira is another reason for the new pre-race rule. She was present during the Miami and Barcelona circuits, believed to be supporting and dating Lewis Hamilton.
