Superstar Roman Reigns has been the holder of the WWE Universal Championship for 1000 days and running now, and to commemorate the occasion, Triple H presented him with a shiny new gift.

Reigns won the belt at the WWE Payback pay-per-view on August 30, 2020, coming out on top over then-reigning champion "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman in a No-Holds-Barred Triple Threat Match.

In honor of his lengthy reign, Triple H presented Reigns with a brand new design for the WWE Universal Belt on the latest episode of Smackdown, replacing the previous blue strap design.

The design is similar to the previous Universal belt design, except for an all-gold front plate and a black strap.

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H congratulated Reigns for his historic feat before handing him the new belt.

"On behalf of the entire WWE Universe, I would like to congratulate you on surpassing 1,000 days as champion, something that hasn't been accomplished in WWE in almost 40 years," Triple H told Reigns.

Reigns smiled as he held the new belt, with manager Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa accompanying him in the ring.

WWE introduced another word title earlier this year, also presented by Triple H for the Raw brand.

The new World Heavyweight Championship was won by Seth "Freaking" Rollins at the Night of Champions pay-per-view event in Saudi Arabia at the end of May.
