The Los Angeles Chargers bolstered their playoff bid with a 19-point victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13. This Sunday, the Chargers will look to make back-to-back wins when they host the struggling New York Giants at SoFi Stadium. Here's a breakdown of this key Giants vs Chargers clash.

New York Giants installed as +10.5 underdogs

New York's quest to reach the 2021 NFL playoffs got derailed on Sunday as the Giants suffered a 20-9 loss to the surging Miami Dolphins. The Giants had no answer for Tua Tagovailoa, who completed 30 of 41 passes for 244 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

The Giants dropped to 4-8 for the season with the loss. They are now in 13th place in the NFC standings, with just five weeks remaining in this campaign. The Giants still have a shot of reaching the playoffs as they trail sixth-placed Washington and seventh-ranked San Francisco by just two games.

The Giants struggled to put some points on the board in Week 13 with quarterback Daniel Jones sidelined. In his emergency start, Mike Glennon looked out of sorts, completing just 23 of 44 passes for 187 yards with no touchdowns and one interception.

The bad news for the Giants is that Jones is expected to miss their Week 14 game against the Chargers again. He suffered a neck injury in the Giants' win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12. Team doctors and specialists evaluated his neck injury, and they were in agreement that Jones needs more time to recuperate.

To make matters worse for New York, Glennon suffered a concussion in the loss to the Dolphins and is also doubtful for Sunday's game against LA. Newly acquired quarterback Jake Fromm may now start for the Giants in their biggest game of the season. Fromm has never played an NFL game in his career.

Los Angeles Chargers enter Week 14 as -10.5 favorites

The Los Angeles Chargers will head to their showdown against the New York Giants with momentum on their side after beating the Cincinnati Bengals, 41-22, in Week 13. It was a huge bounce-back win for the Chargers, who suffered a 28-13 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 12.

The Chargers escaped with the victory despite nearly blowing a 24-0 lead. The Bengals scored 22 consecutive points to trim the Chargers' lead to two points in the second half. The Chargers responded, though, scoring the game's final 17 points to quell the Bengals' uprising.

It was a massive win for the Chargers, who kept pace with Kansas City in the race for the AFC West title. The Chargers trail the Chiefs by one game heading into Week 14. For LA to win against New York, it needs to get a quality performance from Justin Herbert. He was superb against the Bengals, completing 26 of 35 passes for 317 yards with three touchdowns and one interception.
