Carmelo Anthony, New York Knicks Star Forward, Thinks Team Lacks Veteran Leadership [VIDEO]

Carmelo Anthony thinks the blame in his New York Knicks disappointing 3-12 start and current eight game losing streak lies in the loss of such out-of-the league veteran players as Jason Kidd, Rasheed Wallace and Kurt Thomas.

Prior to the Knicks 97-95 road loss in Denver Friday night, Anthony told Basketball.RealGM.com he feels the team needs more vets like the aforementioned trio, two of whom (Kidd and Wallace) have since embarked on NBA coaching careers.

"I think we do miss J-Kidd and Rasheed," Anthony told RealGM in identifying some of the differences he sees in last season's 50-win team and this year's squad.

With such young players as Iman Shumpert, Cole Aldrich, Tim Hardaway Jr., Chris Smith and Toure' Murry, the Knicks current roster features five players under the age of 26 and with five years or less on NBA experience.

Hampering their development all the more has been the lost of veteran starters Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton. Chandler has played in just four games as he recovers from a broken right leg and before returning against the Nuggets Felton missed four straight contests with a pinched nerve in his hip.
