LeBron James Makes First Appearance As Part Of Los Angeles Lakers At Summer League

Los Angeles Lakers fans finally had a glimpse of their new king on Sunday at the Las Vegas Summer League.

LeBron James made his first public appearance as a member of the Lakers, surprisingly watching a summer league game of his new team. The four-time NBA Most Valuable Player agreed to move to Los Angeles after spending the last four seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

A video posted by Rob Perez on Twitter showed James wearing a Lakers short to the delight of their fans in Las Vegas. The new king of Los Angeles also rocked a purple shoes, completing his Lakers-themed attire on Sunday to support their Las Vegas Summer League squad.

Young Lakers Welcome Their New Teammate

Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart, two of the young guns of the Lakers, made sure that they will welcome their new teammate with open arms. Ingram and Hart approached James on the sidelines. Ingram exchanged pleasantries with James while the Lakers were going up against the Detroit Pistons. Ingram, who will be entering his third season in the league, also came to support their Summer League team.

Hart also approached and hugged James before the game. Hart led the Lakers to a 101-78 win over the Detroit Pistons, scoring 18 points to help Los Angeles advance to the Las Vegas Summer League semifinals. Hart, who is the leading contender for the MVP award in the Summer League, spoke about his moment with James.

"Obviously, that's cool that [James] was there," Hart said via Los Angeles Times. "Before the game and after the game it's cool."

Alex Caruso was also thrilled to see James watching them on Sunday.

"It's pretty surreal now," Caruso said. "I mean, he's really on the team I guess. Good to see him, and [Brandon Ingram] showed up too, just to see them supporting us shows that they care."

LeBron James Meets Former Coach Tyronn Lue

Meanwhile, Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue also approached James. Lue's Cavaliers were scheduled to play after Los Angeles' game against the Pistons. Lue and James shared a hug and were all smiles in their first time together since James decided to leave the Cavaliers. According to USA Today, Lue was shocked of James's decision to leave Cleveland, but their moment together could be a proof that there is no bad blood between them.
