Winnipeg enters play on a four-game winning streak while New Jersey saw its three-game streak get snapped Saturday night. The last time these two played, the Jets shut the Devils out 3-0 in Winnipeg on Oct. 13.
The Jets are coming off of a 3-2 loss in the shootout Saturday night against the Minnesota Wild in the first game back from a hip injury for Mark Stuart.
"We played a pretty good game, but when you're up a goal with just over five minutes left, you have to finish those off," Stuart said after the Jets gave up a lead late to force overtime and eventually a shootout, according to NHL.com.
The Devils lost 2-1 to the San Jose Sharks on Saturday in a game where Martin Brodeur appeared to injure his neck after making a save, but said after the game he was fine.
"It was more of a kind of electric shock through my body," Brodeur told NHL.com. "It was kind of a little numbness everywhere. It went really quick through my legs and feet and fingers. I wasn't sure. I never felt that before, so that's why I didn't move. When I got up, I was a little dizzy, but I guess it's normal when you go through a little experience like that."
Brodeur is 7-4-2 this season with a 2.06 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage. Ondrej Pavelec has played 20 of 26 games between the pipes for the Jets, posting an 8-9-3 record with a 2.81 GAA and a .931 save percentage.
The Devils have been led on the score sheet by Jaromir Jagr, who has nine goals and nine assists for 18 points while Marek Zidlicky has 13 points by finding the twine three times and adding 10 assists and Patrik Elias has lit the lamp four times and added seven helpers for 11 points.
The Jets attack has been paced by Bryan Little, who has 23 points off of 12 goals and 11 helpers while Andrew Ladd and Dustin Byfuglien each have six goals and 13 assists for 19 points. Byfuglien has five goals and seven points in his last five games.
The Jets look to snap a four-game skid while the Devils hope to start building towards a new winning streak when the lights come on tonight at the Prudential Center in New Jersey.
