Backstage Update on The Undertaker Returning to WWE Television This Week

The Undertaker has not appeared on WWE television since getting eliminated by Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble. However, the latest backstage update points to "The Deadman" making his return this week to begin the build of his WWE WrestleMania 33 match against Reigns.

According to PW Insider, The Undertaker is scheduled to return to WWE television this week. He is expected to make an appearance on Monday Night Raw and start his rumored feud with "The Big Dog." It should be noted that the future Hall of Famer and Reigns had a long stare down at the Royal Rumble.

As recapped by WWE.com, The Undertaker entered the Royal Rumble wherein he eliminated superstars like The Miz, Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin and Bill Goldberg. However, he was blindsided by Reigns and their long stare down led to many speculations that the match is going to happen at WWE WrestleMania 33.

There were even rumors that The Undertaker will help Braun Strowman defeat Reigns at Fastlane but no interference happened. Reigns ended up beating Strowman cleanly and "The Phenom" did not make an appearance to confront the three-time WWE world champion.

If The Undertaker appears on Monday Night Raw, he is expected to challenge Reigns in a match at WWE WrestleMania 33. The result of the match is still not known but there is a big chance that "The Guy" could end up beating the 51-year-old legend.

WWE chairman Vince McMahon has been looking forward to the match for a couple of years now and he does not care how the fans react to Reigns. The Undertaker will surely get cheered and Reigns is going to get booed out of the building.

At this point, The Undertaker should be putting superstars over but the weight of defeating him at WWE WrestleMania 33 is not as big if he was still undefeated. Nevertheless, fans should savor The Undertaker's appearances because he is expected to retire anytime soon to undergo hip surgery that will effectively end his career, per Ringside News.
