The Rock Visits WWE To Shoot A Scene Of His Upcoming Movie 'Fighting With My Family': Calls CM Punk

WWE Legend, The Rock is currently busy with the shooting of "Fighting With My Family" and he was back in a WWE arena Monday. Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock called CM Punk and thousands were chanting his name. The audience was cheering for Punk aka Phil Brooks.

As written in IGN, The Rock was in WWE as a producer of his upcoming movie "Fighting With My Family", directed by The Office co-creator/ Logan actor Stephen Merchant. The movie is based on the life of WWE Diva Paige and her family of British wrestlers.

They were recreating the scene of the night Paige made her debut in following her time in NXT and immediately won the Divas Championship from AJ Lee. The Rock came out to inform the crowd before RAW went on the air to explain the filming that would be taking place after the show so that they would stick around and he can recreate the match between AJ and Paige.

The crowd was excited to see The Rock and listening to him describing the scene being filmed. When he mentioned AJ, the crowd began chanting the name of CM Punk who quit WWE a few years back. As written in CBS Sports, Punk retired in 2014 and moved on to mixed martial arts career in UFC.

The Rock was thought it would be fun to call Punk right there and stood in the middle of the WWE ring at Staples Center. Unfortunately, he gets his voice mail and he explained the situation to him. After some time, Rock was asking the crowd to cheer, book and make other noises that would be used in his movie and Punk called. Rock missed that call and tried to call him again as a Facetime call, but no response.

After that, actress Florence Pugh and Thea Trinidad came to the ring as Paige and AJ to recreate what happened on WWE Monday Night RAW on April 7, 2014. AJ Lee aka AJ Brooks' fans heard her old theme music play after a long time on RAW.

CM Punk posted two tweets that night and explained why he missed the calls from The Rock. He said he was walking his dog Larry on his birthday.
