NBA News: Magic Johnson Keen To Add Kobe Bryant In Front Office Role To Guide The Lakers [VIDEO]

Magic Johnson said that he is keen to add Kobe Bryant to the Lakers' first office to guide the team. One legendary former Laker returning to the franchise was good, adding one more would do a world of good.

Johnson himself was installed in the job earlier this month as an advisor to the Lakers president and co-owner Jeanie Buss. While his vague but quite expensive job description consisting of advising ownership on all business and basketball matters, collaborating with the team coaches, evaluating and importantly mentoring players and helping ownership to determine the best part of the growth and success, leaves a question that how much power Johnson wields, but he has clearly said whenever he gets the opportunity, he'd call Kobe Bryant for the front office role.

Johnson has also spoken with Kobe Bryant on a radio show. In that conversation, Johnson, in his first year of retirement said he is always around behind the scenes for Jeanie, Jimmy and the entire Buss family if they need any kind of assistance in terms of advice or anything of that nature perspective.

Having already indicated that he would be willing to pitch in to guide the Lakers, at least on a part-time basis, Bryant could well play an important role in the revival of the Lakers team. He is quite a beloved by the team's fan base, as is Johnson, who would represent a helpful reminder of glory days while the team is going through a rare slump period.

Johnson has made it clear that he wants to be the one to call the shots at the Lakers' decision-making. It is not cleared that the famously imperious Bryant would be satisfied with just providing inputs or will he want a job to have a say on things. However, in the same situation, he could very well be counted on to have a very unsentimental view of the Lakers' roster. If a cold-blooded move is needed to get the Lakers back on the winning track, Johnson might be smart in tapping Bryant to make it.
