NFL Rumors: Jerry Jones Wants Tony Romo Trade Talks To Cool Down After Photo With John Elway Went Viral

The trade rumors about Tony Romo going to the Denver are heating up after a photo of the Dallas Cowboys quarterback and Broncos GM John Elway together went viral online. However, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wants everyone to calm and cool down all the Romo trade talks.

Since the emergence of rookie QB Dak Prescott in Dallas, trade rumors have surrounded the Cowboys, especially the 37-year-old quarterback. According to a report by Ian Rapoport of NFL last November 2016, Romo prefers getting traded to the Broncos this offseason.

It should be noted that Romo lost his starting spot to Prescott after suffering a back injury in the final game of the preseason. The rookie QB handled everything like a veteran as he led the Cowboys to an impressive 13-3 record this season.

The rumors of Romo to Denver escalated this weekend when a photo of the veteran QB with the Broncos GM went viral on social media. Romo and Elway were photographed with businessman Glenn Stearns at the victory party of House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, per The Denver Post.

The photo was posted on Stearns' personal Facebook account but it has been taken down. It fueled the trade rumors but the Cowboys owner thinks everyone should calm down. He told the Dallas Morning News on Tuesday that he is not giving the media any details about Romo's situation.

"I'm not going to get into that at all, whether we've talked or not. We're at a juncture now that we need to just cool it in our public conversations about what we're going to be doing or not doing there with Tony," Jones said.

The Cowboys are in a great position moving forward with Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott. They can also get several assets if they trade Romo to Denver. As for the Broncos, their QB situation is still up but their players are open to playing with the longtime Cowboys star.
