Reports indicate that the following were taped on Tuesday night for the WWE SmackDown episode set to air this Friday, Nov. 8 from Charlotte North Carolina. This episode airs just 16 days before the WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view on Nov. 24.
In the main event of the evening, John Cena defeated Ryback with the Attitude Adjustment. After the match, Alberto Del Rio came out and attacked John Cena's previously injured arm to close out the show.
These two had issues earlier on the show when Del Rio came out to the ring and called out Cena. Cena said that he came out ready to fight, but Vickie Guerrero cut them off and said that the match between the two will take place at the Survivor Series, in a rematch of their match at Hell in a Cell where Cena won the title.
Guerrero then set up the Cena/Ryback match as well as adding Alberto Del Rio vs. The Great Khali. Cena defeated Ryback and Del Rio was successful in his challenge of taking down The Great Khali.
SmackDown opened with CM Punk, who came out and called out the Wyatt family. Much to Punk's chagrin, he was met with Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel rather than the Wyatts. Axel challenged Punk to a match and Punk accepted, before finishing him off with the GTS. The Wyatts then came out and teased a run-in on Punk but didn't attack.
Daniel Bryan got a piece of the Wyatts on this episode of SmackDown, as he took on and defeated Luke Harper by disqualification after Erick Rowan interfered during the match. The Wyatts attacked Bryan post-match, but Punk made the save.
Elsewhere on the program in a six-man tag match, The Usos and R-Truth defeated 3MB and in WWE Divas action, A.J. and Tamina defeated The Funkadactyls after A.J. got Cameron to submit.
This episode of WWE SmackDown was notable as it confirmed another match on the card for Survivor Series by announcing the Del Rio and Cena contest, and furthered the feud between CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and the Wyatts as the November pay-per-view is rapidly approaching.
