Johnny Manziel may be at a low point in his life, but at least his friend's still care about him -- including pals from his childhood.

The embattled former Browns quarterback has been in a whirlwind of trouble, with his partying ways leading to lawsuits, more legal trouble, the loss of his job and the departure of two agents.

Manziel's childhood friend, Jimmy Landes, who was selected with the 210th overall pick in the sixth round of the NFL Draft, wants to help. Landes played little league baseball with the former Heisman Trophy winner and grew up in Tyler, Texas, with him.

Landes, like the rest of America, constantly sees his friend in trouble on television and in the headlines, and is hoping he can reach out to him.

"When I got drafted, I told my parents, I get this money. I told [my brother] John this. I said, 'I get my signing bonus, I want to go find Johnny. Get a plane ticket and go find him. Get with him,'" Landes told ESPN. "I'd bring [hometown friend] J.B. [Moss] with me. Just to be with him and pick apart his mind, like why are you doing this? Why are you doing that? Just bring him back down, you know, to the good old Johnny that we all know."

Landes, 23, said he doesn't recognize the Manziel that he sees these days, but it doesn't mean he's giving up on him.

"I haven't given up faith in Johnny," Landes said. "I know he's got a lot to learn and he's growing up right now. I haven't given up on him like a lot of people have. I grew up with him. I know the real Johnny. I'd do anything for Johnny. If he gave me a call and wanted me to fly up and take care of him, I'd be on a plane in a heartbeat. I'd do anything to help him out right now."

Manziel, 23, has had rampant issues staying away from the party scene and was also recently indicted by a Dallas jury for an alleged physical altercation with his ex-girlfriend, model Colleen Crowley. He was released by the Browns in March.

He was also recently sued for allegedly causing $32,000 worth of damage to a home he and his party pals rented for a two-day alcohol and drug-fueled binge in Los Angeles.

While Landes can certainly do his part, it's really up to Manziel to show a willingness to turn his life around.
