The Pistons and Cavaliers are set to clash in Game 2 of their best-of-7, Round 1 series as part of the NBA playoffs when they take the court at the Quicken Loans Arena tonight in Cleveland.
Detroit is looking to even up the series before it shifts to its home court, while Cleveland will look to jump out to a quick 2-0 lead. The Cavaliers toppled the Pistons, 106-100, in Game 1 on Sunday.
Kyrie Irving had a game-high 31 points for Cleveland in the victory, while Kevin Love contributed a team-best 13 rebounds and LeBron James led the way with 11 assists. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope paced the Pistons with 21 points in the loss, while Andre Drummond notched 11 boards.
Despite an 0-1 series hole, there is no shortage of confidence for a Detroit team that handed Cleveland three losses in the regular season -- even if two came without the Big 3 in the lineup. Two of the victories came at the Quicken Loans Arena.
"We don't care who you put in front of us," Reggie Jackson said, according to ESPN. "We fear nobody and experience is going to be our best teacher. We're going to learn on the fly. We think we have a chance."
James knows how important it is for Cleveland's offense to run through him, Irving and Love.
"It definitely starts with us," James, who will surpass Michael Jordan with his 180th playoff start on Wednesday, told ESPN. "It starts with our mindsets and it starts with how we approach the game. For these two guys, they were just excited to get back to this moment. It was great to be out on the floor with them and for them to put together the performance that they did."
