The Final Four rolls on as Syracuse and UNC go head-to-head in Houston with a chance to advance to the National Championship on the line.
Syracuse upset Virginia, 68-62, to with the Midwest bracket advance to the Final Four. Malachi Richardson led the Orange with 23 points in the victory, while Michael Gbinije and Tyler Lydon put up 11.
Gbinije paces Syracuse with 16 points and 4 rebounds per game in the tournament. The Orange also toppled Dayton, Middle Tennessee and Gonzaga to get this far.
UNC enters after defeating Notre Dame, 88-74, to clinch the East bracket. Brice Johnson led the way with 25 points in the victory, while Marcus Paige notched 13.
The Tar Heels also overcame FGCU, Providence and Indiana in the tournament.
Syracuse is very comfortable with its identity entering this game.
"We just try to do what we do better. That's all," said Syracuse coach Jim Boheim, according to ESPN. "It's a little too late in the year to be experimenting."
Roy Williams expects a dogfight to get to the finals.
"If you're better than me, you can probably beat me 20 times," Williams told ESPN. "The Syracuse games, the games went right down to the wire."
The winner of this game will take on the victor of the Villanova-Oklahoma game in the NCAA Championship Game on Monday.
