Washington Wizards Rumors: Visit With Rihanna Could Be Spark John Wall Needs To Lift Team To Postseason [PHOTO, VIDEO]

John Wall is clearly frustrated with the unexpected way the Wizards season has gone.

Washington was expected to be a contender in the Eastern Conference, but thus far they've played to a 35-35 record, good enough for just 10th in the conference. They now find themselves fighting for their playoff lives day in and day out.

Wall colorfully expressed how bothered he is by the Wizards' surprising struggles this season.

"I think about it every day, to be honest with you," Wall told the Washington Post on Monday. "I'm thinking, 'There's no way in hell we should be in this situation. We should already have a playoff spot. We should be done with that.' Now we're fighting for dear life."

The three-time NBA All-Star followed up those words by putting up 27 points and 14 rebounds while helping to lead the Wizards to a crucial 117-102 victory over the Hawks, whom they play against Wednesday night as part of a home-and-home.

He also may have found some inspiration off the court by taking some time away from basketball to enjoy himself. Wall attended Rihanna's concert Monday night as the "Work" singer's ANTi Tour made a stop in Washington, D.C.

Wall posed for some pictures alongside the gorgeous singer and the Wizards shared another photo on Twitter showing the NBA star gifting her his jersey:

Perhaps these minor breaks off the court will help clear the NBA star's head for the stretch run. The Wizards are 1 1/2 games behind the ninth-place Pistons (37-34) and eighth-place Bulls (36-33) in the Eastern Conference standings, so every night will be a fight for the rest of the season.

"We're trying to chase them," Wall told the Post. "We got to do our job just winning games and hope other teams lose to give ourselves an opportunity. But we can't focus on anybody else if we can't take care of our games."

Wall, 25, has averaged 20.2 points, 10 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game this season.
