Today at 3:30 p.m. ET, No. 17 Florida (4-1, 3-0 SEC) takes on No. 10 LSU (5-1, 2-1 SEC) live from Tiger Stadium in Louisiana. The game can be live streamed here. Florida fans can hear all the action on 850 WRUF while LSU fans can do the same on Eagle 98.1 FM .
LSU, which has one of the most potent offenses, enters the game looking to secure its 28th home win in its last 29 games while the Gators stingy defense looks to continue its strong play against the forimddable offense thrown at it by LSU.
LSU is coming off a win on the road against Mississippi state where it put up its most points since 1997 in a 59-26 victory while accounting for 563 total yards. LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger has led the Tigers to topping 400 yards and scoring at least 35 points for the first time in school history. Mettenberger is 107-for-157 (68.2%) for 1,738 yards with 15 touchdowns and just two interceptions thus far in a breakout season that has him on pace for a school record in both passing yards and touchdowns.
"Zach is playing just like we need him to play at home or on the road," coach Les Miles said per ESPN. "He is the leader. He is in charge of the communication. Zach is one of those guys on the field who gives you advantages not just with his arm, but with his mind."
Mettenberger has had plenty of weapons this season, such as Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry, who rank third and fourth in the SEC in receiving, respectuflly. Beckham has 35 receptions for 686 yards and six touchdowns while Landry has 42 receptions for 616 yards with seven touchdowns.
The Gators, meanwhile give up an average of just 217.0 yards per game, good enough for the second fewest in the country. Defensive back Vernon Hargreaves has led Flordia with three interceptions thus far this season.
Tyler Murphy takes the ball under center for Florida after Jeff Driskel fell with a season-ending injury on Sept. 21. Murphy has gone 39-for-54 (72.2%) for 530 yards with five touchdowns and one interception to help improve the Gators' offense.
"I don't see him getting flustered," Florida offensive coordinator Brent Pease told ESPN of Murphy. "He's demanding of himself. He's demanding of what he wants from coaches, too. And he's demanding from his teammates."
It will be a classic matchup of a potent offense and a stingy defense when Florida and LSU take the field at Tiger Stadium this afternoon.
