Colin Kaepernick Update: QB May Have Saved His Body And Career By Sitting Out The Season [VIDEO]

Colin Kaepernick's season and maybe his career is over with the 49ers, according to ESPN.

ESPN is reporting that Kaepernick decided he wanted to get surgery on his non-throwing shoulder and the 49ers granted this wish.

They put Kaepernick on IR today which could Mark the end of his career as quarterback of the 49ers.

Kaepernick was the toast of the town just a few years ago. He led his team to back-to-back NFC Championship Games, since then he and the Niners have fallen completely off the map and no one knows why.

Most NFL experts think that NFL defenses have caught up with him and learned  how to stop him, but it could also be that he has no weapons around him.

When Joe Montana and Steve Young played, they had players like Jerry Rice, Terrell Owens, Roger Craig and others in their backfield; who does Kapernick have?

Running back Frank Gore is gone to Indianapolis, wide receiver Michael Crabtree went to Oakland; they were you two most productive offensive players on the team other than Kapernick.

Not to mention a number of loses on the defensive side too.

It's hard to win games when the best player on the field has to do it by himself and Kapernick is not Montana or Young. He is not the type of player that can win games with his arm like they did and the 49ers did not do him any favors by not surrounding him with free agent talent. So maybe  Kaepernick was not only saving his body, but his career as well.
