Tim Tebow NFL News: Andrew Luck Injury Creates Opening For Popular QB [VIDEO]

A Facebook page named "Trade Tim Tebow to the Indianapolis Colts" still exists. That's an idea, only now, the Colts don't have to trade for him.

Indianapolis starting quarterback Andrew Luck is expected to miss 2-6 weeks because of a lacerated kidney and a partially torn abdominal muscle, according to ESPN.

Luck already had been playing with multiple fractured ribs, according to Yahoo Sports. The latest injury might allow Luck to recover from all his ailments.

"It is one heck of a blow," said coach Chuck Pagano. "You don't want to lose anybody, especially your starting quarterback. Our guys will respond like they always do. We've been through a ton already this season and in the past, and we'll get through it. We'll get through it."

Bills' Tyrod Taylor Lost Roster Spot On Eagles To Tim Tebow.

The Colts now have only 40-year-old Matt Hasselbeck on their active roster. They also have Matt Blanchard, a second-year pro from Wisconsin-Whitewater on their practice squad. But Tebow would give the Colts a running dimension that Luck possessed.

They saw Tebow first-hand in a preseason game in August when he was trying out for the Eagles, and he has NFL experience from his days in Denver and New York.

The Colts would present a perfect opportunity for Tebow to thrive. He'd have a veteran presence in Hasselbeck from which to learn, and he could give the Colts and added dimension on offense.

Tebow last played in the NFL in 2012 with the Jets, but got an extended tryout with the Eagles this past offseason and made it to the final roster cut. His presence would give Indianapolis a valuable addition to keep their ship going until Luck returns. The Facebook page of Tebow was created in 2011 when he was quarterbacking the Broncos.

Unfortunately for Tebow, none of the current Colts coaches has a tie to him during his playing days, and that would force Tebow to make a more immediate impression with the team to stick around.
