Florida Sports News: Two Future Hall Of Famers Finding Fountain Of Youth In Sunshine State [VIDEO]

When Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León made his way to Florida in the 16th century, he was searching for The Fountain of Youth, hoping to have his youth restored by the legendary springs.

While no magical water turned out to exist down in Florida, it seems that both Jaromir Jagr of the Panthers and Ichiro Suzuki of the Marlins didn't get the memo. These two future Hall of Famers have made their way down to Florida to wrap up their careers, and like many old timers before them, The Sunshine State has been the perfect spot for both stars.

Jagr, a spry 43-year-old, has gained a second wind since joining the Panthers. His linemates, 20-year-old Alexander Barkov and 22-year-old Jonathan Huberdeau have revitalized the veteran right wing and in turn got their own careers kickstarted.

Since getting traded to the Panthers last season, Jagr has scored 12 goals and put up 28 points in just 29 games. This was after a less than impressive season with the Devils that saw the former MVP score just 11 goals in 57 games while half a plus/minus of -7.

Ichiro, on the other hand, has a different quest ahead of him. The 42-year-old outfielder has seen better days in the MLB, but he still has quite an exciting season ahead of him.

The Japanese superstar will be chasing several colossal milestones in 2016. He is just two stolen bases shy of 500, and having stolen at least 11 bags in each of his 15 MLB seasons, it's safe to say this is a goal he'll reach. He will also be chasing the revered honor of becoming a member of the 3,000 hits club. To reach that mark, Ichiro will need 65 hits.

While those milestones are special, Ichiro did manage something last season that he had always dreamt of. That's right, after many years in the big leagues, Ichiro finally got a chance to pitch. He let up two hits and a run in one inning, but he looked darn good doing it.

Jagr and Ichiro are two of the oldest players in their respective sports. And even with that, the two are still building their legacies with each game they play. If there's one thing you should learn from these two, it's that you always gotta respect your elders.
