Former NBA star Antoine Walker insists he is now “debt-free, through bankruptcy” and ready to “move forward.”

Walker, who made at least $110 million in NBA salary during a 12-year career primarily spent in Boston, added in a candid interview with Comcast Sports: “Obviously financially now I'm not really where I'd like to be at but I'm surviving, I'm alive and well and healthy, and back ready for the second challenges in my life."

It hasn’t been easy. Just months ago, the former veteran All-Star appeared on an episode of The Rikki Lake Show and admitted the small fortune he actually came to squander was worth a lot more than that.

The three time All-Star forward announced his retirement in 2008 and soon thereafter found himself forced to sell the 2006 NBA championship ring he won with the Miami Heat for $21,500. He ultimately filed for personal bankruptcy in 2010.

"It's about trusting people and putting my faith in people that don't deserve my faith,” he told Comcast of the lessons he’s learned. “I need to be wiser with money and the value of a dollar. I needed to be smarter while going through the bankruptcy process and kind of seeing where I made my mistakes financially, where I wasted money and did a lot of things that I didn't need to do to put myself in that position.”

In addition, in 2011Walker confessed to felony charges of passing off bad checks in the amount of $750,000 to three Las Vegas casinos and was sentenced to probation.

“I learned a lot. Now I can come back and help younger guys with it as I continue with my live. It's something I learned but I'm happy to be healthy and my family was a 100 percent supporter. I'm ready to move forward with my second chance in life," he told Comcast.
