Colin Kaepernick finally faced his first bit of adversity during the offseason, regarding his "passing" skills.

Mediatakeout.com reported that the San Francisco 49ers quarterback made a pass at a female fan on Instagram when he asked for her phone number.

Colin Kaepernick needs to think like a quarterback first to have success in the NFL, Kurt Warner says

The woman, who did not respond, leaked the direct message conversation to the general public, and mediatakeout.com reprinted the back-and-forth between Kaepernick and the woman.

Ironically, the woman was responding to an Instagram video Kaepernick posted of him singing to what appears to be a Christian song, mediatakeout.com reported.

Quarterback trainer says Colin Kaepernick has totally different throwing motion

kaepernick7: "Yeah how you been."

megjayjohnson: "Great. Hope you and your fam are enjoying Easter Sunday! You gotta throw the ball with me at the CT golf tournie this year. I might surprise you."

kaepernick7: "Let's see what you got."

megjayjohnson: "Hit me up on Snapchat if you wanna have a real lip sync battle... meg_johnson10."

kaepernick7: "A number would be even better."

Either the woman did not respond or she did not reveal that part of the conversation to the public. According to mstarz.com, Johnson set her Instagram account to private, "But does she look a bit too young for the popular footballer?" the site asked.

So the conversation goes down as the first bad read Kaepernick made in 2015. The worst part of the exchange is the fact that Kaepernick was singing to a Christian song but then apparently made an immediate "pass" at the woman.

The conversation serves as the second wake-up call to Kaepernick to watch how he handles his social media accounts. Earlier this year, he went off on a random fan on Twitter who made a smart-aleck remark about Kaepernick's workout regimen not helping his passing accuracy.

While several media pundits did come to Kaepernick's defense, several other outlets commented that Kaepernick should have just ignored the tweet, rather than making a personal attack on the author.
