WrestleMania 31 Rumors: Daniel Bryan vs. Brock Lesnar? Mick Foley Campaigns For Beard vs. Beast Match [VIDEO]

There have been rumors for months that Roman Reigns will battle Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 31, but with Daniel Bryan announcing his impending return, Mick Foley wants to see The Beard vs. The Beast at the "Show of Shows."

WWE SmackDown Spoilers For First Episode of 2015

Bryan announced on Monday Night RAW this week that he will return to action at the Royal Rumble as one of the entrants into the 30-man match. Bryan has been sidelined since mid-May after he underwent neck surgery and then lost feeling in his right arm following the procedure.

Foley took to his Facebook page and the WWE Hall of Famer campaigned for the WWE to put Bryan and Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 31 at Levi's Stadium in California on March 29.

Backstage Update On AJ Lee Amid Speculation of Heat From WWE Management

"LESNAR/BRYAN AT MANIA? I SAY "YES"!" Foley wrote on Facebook.

He continued: "I'm not going to smash any TV sets this January. I'm hoping not to say, write, or tweet things that make my relationship with WWE difficult. But following Daniel Bryan's emotional speech on WWE Monday Night Raw last night, I think he could be the guy to face Brock Lesnar at this year's ‪#‎Wrestlemania."

Bryan defeated Triple H and then Randy Orton and Batista in a Triple Threat Match last year at WrestleMania XXX  to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

This occurred after the WWE Universe rejected "The Animal's" return, causing the WWE to change up its plans for the event which originally called for Batista to beat Orton for the gold in a singles bout.

Bryan was then rumored to take on Lesnar at SummerSlam in August, but his injury caused the WWE to vacate the title -- which was won by John Cena. Cena and Lesnar then engaged in a feud that lasted through August and September until Lesnar took time off until this month.

"The Beast" is now back and slated to defeat Cena one more time in their "Final Battle" at the Royal Rumble on Jan. 25 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

At that same event, it is expected that Reigns will continue his monster push by winning the 30-man Royal Rumble Match, setting up a Reigns-Lesnar main event at WrestleMania 31.

Foley believes the WWE should flip the script again and criticized Ryback while promoting Bryan's return.

"As opposed to the earlier Ryback - WWE promo, where Ryback seemed uncomfortable, and in too much of a rush for us to appreciate the substance of the words, Daniel Bryan allowed his emotions to tell the story - reminding us of the journey he'd been on this past year, while not letting us forget what it was about him that made so many of us root for him to begin with," Foley said.

He continued: "He fights from underneath like few before him ever have, and (despite what some of my colleagues may think) would be a credible threat to knock down the mountain that Lesnar has been built to be. It would be the ultimate David, facing the ultimate Goliath. Man vs Beast. Man vs himself - really no need for Man vs company here. Give Paul Heyman free creative reign to bring out the best in Daniel Bryan - and for the WWE Universe to bring out the best in themselves - and we have got ourselves a compelling Mania main event."

While it remains to be seen how the WWE's biggest show of 2015 will pan out, Bryan will undoubtedly make his return to the ring at the 2015 Royal Rumble.
