Tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET, the New Jersey Devils (9-12-4, 22 points) and Toronto Maple Leafs (13-8-3, 29 points) face-off for the first of three meetings this season live from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. The game can be live streamed here. New Jersey fans can hear all of the action on WFAN 101.9 while Toronto fans can do the same on TSN 1050.
New Jersey has lost five straight games and closes out a three-game road trip while Toronto has won two straight contests and plays the third tilt of a five-match home stand.
The Devils are missing a lot of key pieces as forward Jaromir Jagr and defenseman Adam Larsson are dealing with the flu and Patrik Elias is sidelined with a groin injury.
After a hit to the head last game, Jagr is fine, but the flu will keep him out of tonight's game.
"Jagr was sick before the game the other night [in Pittsburgh]," coach Lou Lamoriello said, according to NJ.com. "He does not have a concussion. We went through all the tests after the game, last night and this morning. He just can't go. He's completely dehydrated so we sent him back to the hotel."
Jagr leads the team with 15 points off of four goals and 11 assists while Mike Cammalleri (10 goals, four assists) and Adam Henrique (six tallies, eight helpers) each have 14 points.
The Maple Leafs are coming off of a 5-3 victory over the Dallas Stars on Tuesday that saw Mike Santorelli notch three assists to give him seven helpers in the last four games.
"I just want to keep getting better every day and keep on working on the areas of my game that I need to improve on," Santorelli told NHL.com. "Obviously playing with really good players helps me to put up better numbers."
Phil Kessel paces the Leafs with 26 points off of 12 goals and 14 assists while Tyler Bozak has 11 markers and 12 helpers for 23 points and James van Riemsdyk has found the back of the net 10 times and added 10 assists for 20 points.
In net, Toronto is slated to turn to Jonathan Bernier, who is 9-5-3 with a 2.62 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage thus far this season.
The probable starter for New Jersey is Cory Schneider, who is 9-11-3 with a 2.52 GAA and a .916 save percentage.
