Although the leafs suffered a 4-1 defeat at home to the Boston outfit, a win tonight would rocket them right back into the series.

The Bruins find themselves in the same place as last year as they won their playoff opener against Washington but lost game two, and lost the series in seven games.

The Leafs defenseman Dion Phaneuf said he believed now is not the time to hang your head after Game 1 loss. But he says he knows his team must step his game on if they wish to advance in the playoffs. The bruins outplayed the leafs in almost every aspect in the opener, outshooting the leafs 40 to 20 in fornt of 17,565 Boston fans.

"We've got a character group in here; we've had our setbacks during the year and we've responded well, so there's no time to hang your head," Phaneuf said. "You've got to get right back at it [Thursday] and [Friday] at practice and get ready for Saturday."

The leafs will have to touch up their line up for tonight's game as defensemen Michael Kostka (broken finger) and Cody Franson (bruised foot) were injured in the second period of game 1. Kostka will be out for the remainder of the series.
