No. 10 Caroline Wozniacki and Shuai Peng advanced to the semifinals of the U.S. Open after dominate showings in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
Wozniacki is playing some her best tennis at the perfect time and she spoke about the rough year she has had on and off the court after her match.
"It means so much to me,’' Wozniacki said"It's been a pretty up-and-down year for me, and to be here in the semifinals of the US Open once again is just an incredible feeling. Definitely, hard work pays off.’'
No. 1 Serena Williams takes the court today against No. 11 Flavia Pennetta for the right to join Wozniacki and Peng in the semifinals. Williams and Pennetta will start at 7:00 p.m.
The other quarterfinal match between No. 16 Victoria Azarenka and No. 17 Ekaterina Makarova is the early match of the day at 12:30 p.m.
