Vincenzo Nibali of team Astana snatched back the lead and wears the yellow jersey after 10 stages of the tour. Nabali will look to add to his 143 second lead on Team Sky’s Richie Porte and Alejandro Valverde of Movistar as the tour heads deeper into the mountains.
After a day off from the tour, the race gets right back into the thick of things with stage 11. Nabali established himself as the favorite to take the whole tour after his dominant performance in stage 10. Stage 11 doesn’t get any easier for the riders as the mountains will test who is a contender and who is a pretender.
Stage 11 will push the whole field to it’s limit, but this type of terrain is suited for Peter Sagan. Look for Sagan to gain some ground on the opposition in this stage, but how much ground he makes up remains to be seen.
