NHL Draft Rumors: Jason Spezza Will Be Traded Before Draft? Four Teams in Talks with Senators [VIDEO]

The NHL Draft is Friday and other than the action taking place at the Wells Fargo Center, there is expected to be plenty of action in the war rooms. According to reports, it is likely that the Ottawa Senators will trade captain Jason Spezza and will attempt to move him to his first choices in the Anaheim Ducks and St. Louis Blues.

The Senators had attempted to keep Spezza, but it looks as if the team will grant him his wish and deal him prior to the start of the first round. The Senators will likely call the Ducks first considering they have two first-round picks to play with in trade talks.

Spezza is expected to command a first-round pick in order for any deal to take place and it would be a in Ottawa’s best interest to go after the 10th overall pick they sent to the Ducks as part of the Bobby Ryan trade last season.

According to Bob McKenzie, the Spezza trade talks have started to heat up and four unnamed teams are deep in discussions with the Senators. It is all too clear that at some point in the next 24 hours the Senators will deal Spezza, but will it be to a team that he prefers?

Spezza had 23 goals and 66 points in 75 games player this past season and is an 11-year veteran to the NHL.
