The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Central Florida’s Blake Bortles with the number three selection in the NFL draft, but when will we see the new signal caller take the field? If the Jaguars are true to their word, don’t expect to see Bortles until late 2014 or even 2015.

Coach Gus Bradley spoke to the NFL Network Tuesday and said he feels great about the Jags' quarterback situation and feels the team is in capable hands until Bortles is ready.

"We really felt comfortable with [Henne] coming back with another year in the system," Bradley said Tuesday. "I think it gave us flexibility. When Blake was there available for us, we really wanted to capture that opportunity.”

"We do feel good about where Blake's at, but we feel like this time that he has under Chad, a year to develop, will be really good for him in the end result," Bradley said. "So our plan is to stay really strong with this.”

Bortles will get every opportunity to start and if he is the clear cut best player on the roster, should the Jaguars hold him back in favor of Chad Henne? The Jaguars are nowhere near competing for the 2014 season and judging by their recent history with Blaine Gabbert, sitting Bortles might be the way to go.

The Jaguars are clearly moving in the right direction, but the way the NFL is set up, it is hard for a team to sit a potential star and wait for him to develop. On the flip side, Blake Bortles is not Andrew Luck and could use the extra coaching and film sessions.
