"I couldn't really throw strikes in the first inning," Bedard said via MLB.com. "I was just trying to battle and throw it in the strike zone, but I had a couple of walks in the first and I got better as the game progressed."

Rays second baseman Ben Zobrist has 11 multi-hit games and 16 walks this season while third baseman Evan Longoria is hitting .323 (10-for-31) with two homers and five RBIs lifetime against Lackey.
