Tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET, the Calgary Flames (33-38-7, 73 points) and New Jersey Devils (34-28-16, 84 points) faceoff live from the Prudential Center in New Jersey for the second and final meeting against each other this season. The game can be live streamed here. Calgary fans can hear all of the action on SportsNet 960 while New Jersey fans can do the same on 101.9 WFAN.
Calgary is out of postseason contention but looking to play spoiler and earn its third straight win while New Jersey is competing for the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference and has also won three games in a row heading into tonight. The first time these two teams met, the Flames defeated the Devils 3-2 on Oct. 11 in Calgary.
The Devils struggled in the beginning of the season but have been able to surge back and put themselves in the playoff hunt.
"I've known the character in that room for the three years I've been here," coach Pete DeBoer said via NHL.com. "I knew there was no quit in that dressing room and these guys were going to play until they tell us we can't play anymore."
The Flames are coming off of a 2-1 victory over the Florida Panthers and continue to play hard even though the playoffs are nowhere in sight.
"It's a big win," Flames head coach Bob Hartley said via the Calgary Sun. "I don't care that we don't make the playoffs. I don't care we're at the end of the season. It's an investment. We're asking the guys to play playoff hockey, and I think we've shown it."
The Flames have been led offensively by Jiri Hudler, who has 50 points off of 16 goals and 34 assists while Mark Giordano has 13 tallies and 32 helpers for 45 points and Mike Cammalleri has lit the lamp 26 times while adding 17 assists for 43 points.
Jaromir Jagr paces the Devils with 64 points off of 24 goals and 40 assists while Patrik Elias has 17 markers and 34 helpers for 51 points and Travis Zajac has found the twine 17 times while adding 28 helpers for 45 points. Elias (head) is sidelined.
Martin Brodeur will likely man the crease for New Jersey and is 18-14-5 with a 2.54 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage while Karri Ramo is likely to be in between the pipes for Calgary and is 15-13-4 with a 2.61 GAA and a .911 save percentage.
The Flames and Devils each look for their third straight win when the puck drops tonight at the Prudential Center in New Jersey.
