Floyd Mayweather gambling: 'Money' drops $8 million on Kentucky to beat Wisconsin in Final Four? [VIDEO]

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is at it again in Vegas...or at least the rumor mill feeding his gambling lore is. Today's word is that "Money" Mayweather's feeling confident about the Kentucky Wildcats' chances this weekend in the Final Four-confident enough to plop $8 million on them at -1.5.

According to Vegas Gambling Stream's Twitter feed, "#FinalFour Betting: Floyd Mayweather betting crazy again, Kentucky Wildcats -1.5 for cool $8,000,000 (spread around 9 offshore & Vegas book)."

A Kentucky radio host backed up the rumor, tweeting out "Boxer Floyd Mayweather has bet $8 million on Kentucky (-1.5) over Wisconsin Saturday."

Floyd Mayweather calls himself a "guarantee"

If this is true, this may be Mayweather's wildest bet yet, real or imagined. Kentucky was a slight favorite in Round 2, and began the Big Dance as a mere No. 8 seed. They've been underdogs in each of their last three games, upsets over No. 1 Wichita State, No. 4 Louisville, and No. 2 Michigan. While their record and seeding reflect a "Cinderella," the Wildcats are also loaded with raw talent and began the season as the top-ranked program.

It's wise to remember the rampant rumors of his mythical $10 million bet on the Denver Broncos to win the Super Bowl, which was later proven false. Good thing too, since Seattle shellacked Denver from the opening kickoff, to the final whistle.

Maidana reveals game plan to defeat Floyd?

"For the record, I did not bet $10 million on the Broncos. As a matter of fact, I didn't bet all," Mayweather said. "I can't control what rumors that are put out there. Good or bad publicity keeps me relevant. The only thing I would bet $10 million on is myself. From the looks of my record, I'm a guaranteed win."

In that case, gamblers should be aware he's the heavy favorite over Marcos Maidana for their May 3 bout at the MGM Grand on May 3. Amir Khan and Adrien Broner will be featured on the undercard.
