John Henry couldn't let sleeping lineups lie.
Masslive.com reported that Henry, owner of the Boston Red Sox, had a delayed but effective response to the Miami Marlins' outrage over a Red Sox lineups in a spring training game on Thursday.
The Marlins reportedly were to contact Major League Baseball officials because the Red Sox violated a Major League rule that requires teams to field at least four starters from the previous season or who have a reasonable chance to be a regular in the upcoming season to play in all spring training games.
The Sun-Sentinel reported that the Red Sox had seven players on the squad that played against the Marlins on Thursday who never have had a major league plate appearance.
The Marlins were angry because they chose Thursday's game to charge a super premium to its fans because the 2013 world champions were in town. According to the newspaper, fans paid $12 more per field box seats, $11 more for loge seats and $10 more for bleacher seats.
Even though Boston general manager Ben Cherington apologized to Miami team officials Thursday in an email during the game, Henry wasn't going to let the Marlins feel good about the apology for long.

The Sun-Sentinel described the Red Sox actions as a "gross violation" of the rules. What the newspaper didn't report was the "gross misconduct" of the Marlins ticket office to sell jack up the price for any preseason game - no matter the opponent.
MLB.Si.com insinuated that the Marlins had no right to feel outraged because of the 62-win season Miami had in 2013.
Masslive.com reported that Red Sox manager John Farrell defended the Red Sox lineup saying, "I just know that our team needed specific work in addition to having two catchers needing time off, a right fielder that was unavailable," Farrell told reporters at JetBlue Park on Friday. "We've got work and injuries we were contending with and they just were the players who were available."
