Martin Brodeur may still suit up for the New Jersey Devils for his 1,250th career game with the franchise when they host the Detroit Red Wings Tuesday night, but the goaltender apparently might be on the move after that as reports from the Daily News have indicated that the Devils have agreed to deal their franchise veteran netminder to the Minnesota Wild, though the reports are conflicting.

According to Dan Rosen of TSN, Devils coach Pete DeBoer has said that he intends to start Brodeur Tuesday night in what would be his final game with the only franchise that he's ever called a home for the past 21 seasons. General manger Lou Lamoriello, however, said that he would never start a player he was about to trade.
The Daily News revealed that sources have speculated Brodeur will be headed to Minnesota after Tuesday's game. The details of the deal haven't been fully disclosed, but multiple reports have indicated that Brodeur is on the move. There were some talks earlier this week that Brodeur may get traded to the Wild, and it seems as though Minnesota and New Jersey have worked out a deal.

Brodeur has set many NHL records, including his 683 regular-season victories between the pipes for the Devils as well as the record for shutouts in the postseason with 24, seven of which he recorded in the 2002-03 playoffs while leading the Devils to the last of their three Stanley Cups with him in the crease.

Brodeur was mum on whether or not he wanted to be traded this season, but after the Devils acquired Cory Schneider from the Vancouver Canucks during last year's NHL Draft, Brodeur's role with New Jersey has been limited.
Brodeur said last week that he wouldn't be open about his desires to stay or leave the team.
"Oh, no. It's not going to be like that. I don't think so, anyway," Brodeur told The Newark Star-Ledger. "It's nobody else's business but mine as for the direction I want to go. It's been tough because you go through ups and downs. The more questions I'm asked, sometimes my answers change. That's why in the last few weeks I've been more quiet about it. It's on purpose, because I want to make sure my decision is an educated decision and there are no influences from the outside."
Brodeur is 683-391-152 in his career with a 2.24 goals-against average and .912 save percentage. This season he is 14-11-4 through 29 games with a 2.47 GAA and a .900 save percentage.
The Devils (26-23-13, 65 points) are in 12th place in the Eastern Conference and currently hunting down the final wild-card spot while the Wild (34-21-7, 75 points) currently hold one of the wild-card spots in the Western Conference.
After Tuesday night, Brodeur may wear pads for a different team for the first time in his career.
